The picture above tells a story to Nigerians as the country enters another electioneering cycle.
It shows United States and United Kingdom envoys who met recently to deliberate on their country’s trade and foreign policies.
Pictired left is US Deputy Treasury Secretary, Adewale Adeyemo, in a photo-op with UK Secretary for International Trade, Kemi Badenoch.
And you guessed it – they both have Nigerian roots as their names suggest. Both also hold key sensitive and powerful positions.
They were appointed by their country’s leaders – both current US President and British Prime Minister.
Kemi, in addition, is a member of UK parliament since 2017. She also ran for the office of Prime Minister but lost to Liz Truss.
Their journeys to fame say something to the politics of division and exclusion that dodges the country’s efforts to develop.
