Anambra yesterday 16 May lost its position to Abia as the state with the lowest incidence of reported Covid-19 cases in Nigeria after three new discoveries shot up its tally to five cases.

Abia State remains at 2 cases after last nights report from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) which put total new cases found from tests done nationwide at 176.

The ultimate prize however goes to two states – Kogi and Cross River – whch are yet to record a single incident of the virus.

The latest numbers come from 13 States and the FCT, with Oyo State in second place after experiencing a surge to follow behind predictable leader, Lagos.

All five states of the South East, however, remain among the 10 lowest Covid-19 incidence states (see table, left).

The South West was the most hit yesterday, posting more than three-quarters of all cases reported. The Region’s numbers were boosted by two States – Lagos (95) and Oyo (31).
