Enugu South Local Government Chapter of the African Peoples’ Alliance (APA) have picked the state party leader, Barrister Chinonso Daniel Ogbe, popularly known as CD Ogbe, as its chairmanship candidate for the 29 February 2020 local council elections in Enugu State.

Ogbe, a vibrant activist who uses the courts to force change in the State, was nominated unopposed, in the same manner that the PDP counterpart, Hon. Monday Eneh, equally scaled through yesterday.

He thanked the delegates and party members for standing by him and used the opportunity to outline the achievements of APA as the major opposition party in the State.

He expressed confidence that the electorate of Enugu South LGA will reject establishment candidates and vote for a new beginning powered by the APA through vibrant and innovative youths.

Ogbe advised his supporters to play the game within the ambit of the Nigerian constitution and the electoral laws, noting that elections, including the upcoming local government election in Enugu, “should not be a do or die affair.”

The APA primaries congress was held at the party secretariat in Maryland, Enugu, was witnessed by party stalwarts, delegates, youth observers, and a representative of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), Mr. Casmir Uzochukwu.

Also elected to fly the flag of APA for Nkanu East local government is another youth, Hon. Emeka Aneke.
