President of Nigeria’s Pentecostal Fellowship, Bishop Wale Oke, consecrates first woman apostle at an Enugu grand weekend event on Saturday.

The new apostle, Dr. Deborah Macfoy Akachukwu, is founder of Revival Army Assembly Church with headquarters in the Coal City.

Bishop Oke who is prelate of Calvary Grace International College of Bishops (CGICB) described the 25 November consecration as historical and unique.

This is because, according to him, Dr. Akachukwu blazed a trail by becoming the first woman in Nigeria to be consecrated as an Apostle by the College of Bishops. This gives her the authority to minister in any Pentecostal church, he explained.

She achieved this feat because the Holy Ghost does not discriminate between man and woman, Oke told a packed audience at Akachukwu’s Revival City International Christian Retreat and Conference Centre, located in Iva Valley, Enugu.

Oke, who showered fulsome praise on the new apostle, explained the significance of the event.

“The Holy Ghost gives grace to all to serve. God does not behave like man but gives liberally to everyone he so wishes to anoint.

“There is no female or male anointing,” he continued.  “God anoints anyone he chooses irrespective of whether the person is a male or female.  The spirit gives life to all; the Holy Spirit does not discriminate.

On the recipient, Oke said that Apostle “Macfoy is stepping into her destiny today,” after leading the service of consecration and apostolic enthronement.

The Prelate charged Christians to live life worthy of emulation so that people will see them and glorify God.

“A Christian’s life should be infectious, just like Apostle Akachukwu has demonstrated her worthiness by the consecration.

“Believers should be humble and simple, the simplicity that was in Christ Jesus so that the gospel will not be hindered. In Akachukwu, God has chosen the right person,” he said.

Apostle Deborah expressed gratitude to God for the recognition by the College of Bishops and promised to do her utmost.

“I want to say that I am grateful and thankful for this singular privilege of being recognized by the Calvary Grace International College of Bishops.

“I’ll continue to be an ambassador of Jesus Christ.

I accept the responsibility that has been bestowed upon me,” she said.

Renowned men of God were on hand to witness her consecration and enthronement as an apostle. Among them were Bishop Obi Onubogu of the Rock Family Church, Bishop Tim Menakaya, Bishop C.N.C. Onyeledo.

Also in attendance was Enugu Chapter Chairman of Penticostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop A.A. Nwaodika, PhD, and Dr. Tim Obidike. Enugu Secretary of PFN, Bishop Paul Mike Onyebuchi and Hon. Paul Nnajiofor, former member representing Nkanu East constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly also joined other VIPs at the venue.
