Nigeria experienced a bit of good news yesterday 11 May 2020 as 124 cases of Covid19 were certified fully recovered and discharged.

The number of discharged cases is the highest for the month of May, a significant number considering that this is almost twice the number recorded so far in the Month.

Gombe recorded the highest number of discharged cases at 43, followed by Lagos (33), Kano (13) Ogun and Sokoto (6 each).

Other States include Ekiti and Ondo (5 each), Adamawa and Jigawa (4 each), Kaduna (3), as well as Bauchi and Zamfara (1) each.

This cheery news also extended to the South East which was adjudged free for the third day running following results announced from tests conducted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control as announced yesterday.

The number of patients who succumbed to the disease went down from 15 to 10 deaths from four states: Kano (6), Zamfara (2), Ondo and Rivers (1 each).

In all, NCDC reported 242 new cases of the virus, derived from tests done in 13 states as well as the FCT.

Lagos continues its lead of new cases reported with 88 cases, followed by Kano (64), Katsina (49), Kaduna (13) and Ogun (9) in the top five.
States that reported under 10 cases include Gombe (6), Adamawa (4), and FCT (3).

Six states reported single cases each, including Ondo, Oyo, Rivers, Zamfara, Borno, and Bauchi.
