The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has three branches in Enugu State - Enugu City, Nsukka and Oji River branches. The Association is a professional, non-profit, umbrella association for lawyers who have been enrolled to practice the profession in Nigeria.
NBA is engaged in the promotion and protection of Human Rights, the Rule of Law, and good governance in Nigeria. It has an observer status with the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights and a working partnership with many National and International non-governmental organisations concerned with Human Rights, the Rule of Law, and good Governance in Nigeria and in Africa.
The NBA has a membership of over 105,406 lawyers active in 125 Branches across the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT). It is organised into three practice Sections, eleven Fora, and two Institutes, all supported by one National Secretariat with a staff strength of 37 under the leadership of a General Secretary. The NBA offers a unique National platform that is not available to any other Civil or professional organization in Nigeria.
