The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) was established in 1963 to promote and protect commercial and industrial activities and to represent the business community on matters affecting commerce, industry, mines and agriculture in Enugu State in particular and in the Eastern Nigeria in general. It is a non-profit, member of the Nigerian Association of Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and has active links to overseas chambers for the benefit of its members.
At inception, ECCIMA covered the jurisdictions currently overseen by other chambers located in Port Harcourt, Uyo, Calabar, Aba, Owerri, Umuahia, Onitsha, Nnewi, and Awka. This pedigree has made it possible for ECCIMA to become one of the three Chambers licensed in Nigeria to organize international trade fairs. Apart from the famous Enugu International Trade Fair, the Chamber publishes a number of journals and leading reference works used by businesses in researching the potentials of trade and investments in the State, the region and the country.
The Enugu Chamber actively engages with the authorities on business policy matters. It houses business intelligence on public policies and regulations that investors find very useful in performing due diligence
