In Enugu, the APCON Regional Office is located at 3A Ezikwo Street in Independence Layout. APCON is the acronym for Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria.
It was established by Act 55 of 1988 which gave legislative recognition to advertising as a profession in Nigeria. The law vests APCON with powers to regulate and control the practice of advertising in Nigeria.
Among other functions, APCON processes applications for registration as advertising practitioners, registers candidates for its advertising professional examinations. It monitors advertisements exposed in the media, vets advertisements, and conducts professional training programs for practitioners.
