Enugu is the vibrant eastern hub for arts and theatre creations in Nigeria. The Coal City has always been the watering hole for the art connoisseur. With five universities located in the heart of the city, and a lot of artists and artistes seeking to retire to Enugu to enjoy its serene ambience, it is inevitable that the Coal City became an important destination for culture enthusiasts. The Slam Master, Ike Okere, the poet who heads Enugu Zonal Station of Radio Nigeria does his best to promote the arts through the Enugu Literary Society, while the Obi of Onitsha and Mr. Kevin Ejiofor have for over 10 years now been promoting the Life in My City Arts Festival (LIMCAF).
These are the reasons why we think the Enugu Arts and Theatre is one of the major attractions to the Coal City.
