UPDATED TODAY 3 SEPTEMBER 2020 4.25pm

Motorists in the South East woke up this morning to find that the pump price of petrol has shot up by almost N10 per litre.

Most fuel stations in Enugu are now selling at N160 per litre, up from yesterday’s pump price of between N150 and N154 for the stations.

Enugu Metro has predicted yesterday as follows:

Motorists will experience a significant hike in petrol as fuel pump price go up again from tomorrow, 3 September 2020.

Reason: Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) – the sole importer of products for the moment – has jerked up depot price by almost 10percent.

The new ex-depot price regime takes effect from today 2 September, a memo leaked from the PPMC said.

Most fuel stations in Enugu are selling fuel N150 per litre, based on depot price of N138.62 sold by PPMC.

The memo informed marketers that Premiun Motor Spirit (fuel) will from today be sold at N151 56 per litre.

Enugu Metro will monitor the impact of the increase in the coming days.
