The University of Port Harcourt, Uniport, is inviting applications from qualified candidates for eleven (11) academic and non-academic staff vacancies. The vacancies include:

Qualifications

ACADEMIC STAFF

Lecture I

Candidates must possess PhD or its equivalent. Persons without this qualification however may be appointed to this post if they have adequate teaching and/or professional experience and evidence of promise in research. In addition, all eligible candidate for this position must have served for three years as Lecturer II in a university or in an institution of similar status or had relevant professional experience elsewhere.

Lecturer II

Candidates must possess a PhD or its equivalent. Persons without this qualification however maybe appointed to this post if they have adequate teaching and or professional experience and evidence of promise in research.

Assistant Lecturer

Candidates must possess a master’s degree, although candidates with First Class bachelor’s degree who have relevant experience maybe considered also.

Graduate Assistant

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree, minimum of second class honours Upper Division or it’s the equivalent.

NON TEACHING (SPATS AND JUNIOR STAFF)

Senior Assistant Technologist

Candidates must possess B. Tech, minimum of 2²/HND, with at least Upper Credit in the relevant field plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate

Scientific Officers

Candidates must possess an honours degree, minimum of 2²/HND, with at least Upper Credit in the Medical or Natural Sciences from a recognized higher institution plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate

Systems Analyst /Programmer  

Candidates must possess an honours degree, minimum of 2²/HND, with at least Upper Credit in Computer Science or Information Science Technology from a recognized higher institution, plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate

Higher Technical Officer

• Candidates possessing any of the following qualifications: Honours degree/ minimum of 2²/HND, with at least Upper Credit and National Certificate (HNC) Full Technological Certificate (TNC) in any Engineering /Science related field from a recognized higher institution plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate
• qualifications listed for technical officers with at least three years cognate experience from a public or well established private sector as a Technical Officer

Data Processing Officer II

• Candidates must possess an honours degree minimum of 2²/HND, with at least Upper Credit in Computer Science Data Processing from a recognized higher institution plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate

Senior Porter

• Candidates must possess FSLC and 3 credits in WASC/SSCE/GCSE/NABTEB, including English Language in a sitting. Ex service man with a discharge certificate will be an added advantage

Driver/Mechanic

• Candidates must possess FSLC and Trade Tests Grade 2 or 3, and a valid professional driving license with at least two years driving experience. Possession of WASC/SSCE/GCSE/NABTEB will be an added advantage
