Kaduna State has launched an offensive to ensure that stragglers – youth and almajiris – no longer enter and leave the state at will.

In separate lightening operations to stop people from sneaking into the State, Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs (MISHA) today intercepted 108 youth and almajiri who were traveling in three separate vehicles and asked them to return to their departure points.

The vehicles were forced to turn back at the Kaduna Abuja border, the Ministry said.

Drivers of vehicles that are permitted under essential services basically load their vehicles with these youth and almajiris.

A truck carrying foodstuff and loaded about two dozen youth was also intercepted and turned back at Zango Kataf.

Kaduna State Government officials said they have been able to turn back over 200 trucks seeking to enter or cross the state in violation of the lockdown order.

The Governor, Mallam Nasiru el Rufai, reported this evening that three more positive cases have been noted, increasing the number of active cases to 75.

He said all three persons had travel history outside the state.
