Heartless kidnappers abduct, kill Diaspora Nigerian and a student working part-time staff in his hotel at Ogbomoso in Oyo State.

Witnesses said the kidnappers seized Owolabi the same day he returned to Nigeria.

The victims are Olugbenga Owolabi, owner of Tana Suites and Racharl Opadele, student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

The multiple murders took place this Tuesday, 2 August, after family members reportedly transferred a N5.0 million ransom demand.

Kidnappers seized Owolabi and Opadele last week in the same Abaa area of Ogbomoso where the hotel is located. They demanded a N100million ransom, family members said.

Family members however said they finally negotiated the demand downwards to N5.0 million and arranged for its drop off.

Somehow, the exchange went horribly wrong, leading to three murders at the meeting point.

After allegedly collecting the ransom, the kidnappers shot both victims, the ransom bearer and a commercial motorcyclist that conveyed him.

Owolabi, Rachel, and commercial motorcyclist died on the spot but the ransom bearer escaped with injuries, sources said.

Family members deposited the remains of the victims in a morgue, sources said.

Olugbenga Owolabi lived abroad but decided to take hospitality business to a refined level and create jobs in his hometown of Ogbomoso.

He built Tana Suites, a three-star hotel located at the Abaa area of Ogbomoso to fulfil the dream.

Rachel, a final year student of LAUTECH decided to wait out the current ASUU strike in Nigeria by finding work.

Tana Suites employed her as a part-time staff.

Witnesses said the kidnappers seized Owolabi the same day he returned to Nigeria.
