NBL donates N20m to Enugu out of the N600million announced by brewer as support to the Federal and State Governments to fight Covid-19.

Enugu State will get N20million from the N600million announced by Nigeria Breweries as support to the Federal and State Governments as they battle to contain the Coronavirus pandemic.

Also remembered in the disbursement are two other South East States, Imo and Abia, which will also receive N20m each, according to a statement released today by the spokesperson of the Company, Sade Morgan.

Ms. Morgan said the Company has donated N250million to the Federal Government through the private sector-led intervention fund managed by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Apart from the three South East States who will get 10 percent of the N600million, five other statement governments will also benefit, including Lagos and Ogun States that were given lion shares of N100m and N50m respectively, “being frontline states.”

Kaduna and Oyo States will also receive N20m each, the statement added.

NBL said it will utilize the balance of N100m to purchase and distribute relief materials.

The materials include providing five double-cabin vehicles to NCDC offices in Abuja, Lagos, Ogun and Kaduna States which will be supported with fueling, maintenance and drivers salaries by the Company

Apart from personal protective equipment, NBL also promised to supply malt, energy and soft drinks to Covid-19 NCDC centres nationwide to meet their nourishment needs.
