Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in high spirits today as observed by his legal team during a meeting today in Abuja.

The meeting took place today, 5 August, at the Headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) Headquarters in Abuja.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu  is strong in his convictions, and very much  high in spirit. He extended his best compliments and wishes to  millions of his supporters,” he said.

The Biafran Movement leader requested for prayers from his followers and well-wishers, the lawyer said.

Lead lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, however said highlights of their discussion will remain private since they bordered on “professional services.”

Ejiofor reported last Monday after a meeting that Kanu was “firm and stable,” but needed “advanced medical care.”

He however said the DSS has been giving Kanu medical attention, but this was not adequate.

Kanu’s other worries, he said, included “solitary confinement and concomitant mental torture arising therefrom.”

According to the lawyer, Kanu has consistently expressed gratitude to supporters, foreign governments and institutions as well as the media for “relentlessly following up” on his case.

Today’s meeting at DSS Headquarters Abuja is the second since an Abuja High Court granted their request for frequent visits.

There were concerns that the intercepted by security forces in Kenya and bundled to Nigeria under circumstances that government is yet to disclose.

He is facing 10 charges, including treasonable felony which carries death sentence or life imprisonment. Kanu and his Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement are accused of attempting to overthrow the government of Nigeria.
