Gas exports contribute $70m

According to the report sale of gas in March accounted for more than a quarter of the nation’s earnings from petroleum products sales, the report stated. NNPC collected $71.6M from the export of gas in the month.

Producers reserved more than half of the 218.37 billion cubic feet of gas for both domestic use and for export. They reinjected the balance for both upstream operations and flaring.

The rate of flaring remained almost steady at 9.08% of production, although slightly higher than the yearly average (March 2019-March 2020) at 8.43% (see graph).
