Supporters of Labour Party flagbearer Peter Obi and his deputy, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, storm Enugu in a “million-man” solidarity march.

Over 2,000 supporters of the popular candidate answered the call to demonstrate that the party is strong in Enugu State.

The excited crowd surged through the streets of Enugu, chanting popular street songs with the candidates surname.

The march began from Okpara Sqare through Independent Avenue to join Ogui Road, heading to the Railway Tunnel.

The crowd emerged from the Tunnel to Okpara Avenue from where it made the return journey via Abakaliki Road.

The marchers apparently had diverse motivations for answering the call.

“We want to show Chima (Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani) that we are serious about retiring Ebeano,” one marchers, Josephine Ike, said.

Most, however said the idea was to show that “Enugu is obedient.”
