Who among the duo of Senators Ike Ekweremadu and Chimaroke Nnamani is the ungrateful person in their relationship?
The popular narrative is that the Aninri-born Senator is more guilty of ingratitude to the former Governor.
Did Nnamani pick up Ekweremadu “from nowhere” and make him “somebody” as promoted in recent times?
Here are the arguments that we stumbled upon that provide an insight into the truth.

Has Ike Ekweremadu ever shown gratitude to Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, the man who lifted him from his hand-to-mouth legal practice and humiliating defeat in his Aninri LG chairmanship re-election bid and dropped him in the plum office of Chief of Staff to the Governor of Enugu State; and thence to SSG, and soon after to Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Chimaroke spent humongous Enugu State funds in a failed bid to make Ike Ekweremadu the Senate President in preference to a worthy son of Nkanuland, Senator Ken Nnamani. Ungrateful Ekweremadu instigated the then governor Sullivan Chime to hound Chimaroke out of Enugu.
As Deputy Senate President, he reduced Senator Chimaroke Nnamani to the inglorious status of a bench warmer, the only ex-governor without chairing any Senate Committee.
Where is Ekweremadu’s sense of gratitude? Is it gratitude for Ekweremadu, after feeding fat from seamless zoning principle in Enugu State, to now make a volte-face in denial of zoning?
Ekweremadu is a classical metaphor for ingratitude and treachery. On gratitude or ingratitude, Ekweremadu should preach his sermon to the marines!
Do we talk about his orchestration of EFCC cases against Chimaroke? Ike Ekweremadu organized the judicial robbery of Chimaroke Nnamani’s landslide Senatorial election victory in 2015, sparking outrage in Enugu. Ike Ekweremadu mounted intense pressure on Governor Ugwuanyi not to send his former benefactor to Senate in 2019, and when he failed, pursued Gil Nnaji’s petitions up to the Supreme Court, all to pave the way for his current anti-zoning overambition.
Where is the gratitude to Chimaroke/Nkanu that transformed him from a defeated/struggling lawyer and runaway former council chairman to a national figure?
It is the short memories of the electorates (sic) that keep liars wearing the garb of Ekweremadu in political office. Ekweremadu should know that he may fool all the people some of the time, he can even fool some of the people all the time, but he cannot fool all of the people all the time.
The urgency of now demands that Ekweremadu should be told the stark truth: Ike Ekweremadu stands tall in the Infamous Hall of Ingratitude in the politics of Enugu State.
His misguided sermon on gratitude is a nonsensical effusion as he, who wants equity, must come with a clean hand.

Without in any way downplaying the role of His Excellency, Senator Chimaroke Nnaman in Ikeoha’s political rise, a fact even Ekweremadu has publicly acknowledged, please, don’t ignore the fact that Ikeoha was already an elected Council Chairman when His Excellency, Nnamani was in the US.
That was when Council election used to be highly competitive and he was also voted the Best Council Chairman in 1997.
Don’t forget that HE Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani, rooted for Ikeoha and Ikeoha successfully led his campaign as the Director-General of the Chimaroke Nnamani Campaign organisation.
Don’t also forget that by Senator Nnamani’s account, the pact with Ekweremadu was for something much bigger than Chief of Staff, as the DG of his campaign organisation.
In fact, at the time Ikeoha was appointed Chief of Staff, he was the first person to hold that position in the office of any Nigerian governor. Because some powerful political forces blocked Ikeoha from what human understanding would see as a more befitting position for a campaign DG, Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani said he was at loss. He had turned down Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s personal request for him to send Ikeoha to Abuja as a minister. H.E Senator Nnamani preferred to keep his best in Enugu.
He took a cue from Obasanjo, who appointed a Chief of Staff to the President. The create the office of Chief of Staff to the Governor for Ikeoha. This is only a tip of the iceberg.

Did you also say that Ekweremadu instigated the then Governor Sullivan Chime to hound Chimaroke out of Enugu? Quite laughable. Was that what they told you in a UK night club? Don’t sit idly by over there and conjure up false things.
I suggest you go and have a chat with H.E Senator Nnamani. I’m sure what you will hear would surprise you. If there aIf there are any of Senator Nnamani’s former aides and allies that are consistent with him, Ikeoha is certainly one.
Don’t jump into what you do not know; not even Senator Nnamani would make such fallacious claim as you have made.
