Rangers International football club of Enugu, Nigeria was today, 12 November 2019, drawn in group A alongside two Egyptian teams and a Mauritanian team in CAF Confederation Cup draws held today at the CAF office in Cairo, Egypt.
The draw was shifted from Sunday 10 November to today for the annual ritual to group sixteen clubs that qualified for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
The clubs that will play Rangers in this group are Pyramid of Egypt, Nouadhibou of Mauritaria, and Al-Masry, also of Egypt.
The Egyptian clubs, Pyramid and Al-Masry finished in 3rd and 4th places in the Egyptian Premier League, and qualified to play in the CAF Confederation Cup. Nouadhibou, on the other hand, is the current Champion in Mauritania but like Enyimba, came down from Champions League to Confederation Cup after suffering a 4 – 1 defeat from Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.
Rangers first match is billed to take place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on 1st December, 2019 with Pyramids of Egypt in Matchday 1 of the group competition.
Enyimba on the other hand is drawn in group D alongside FC San-Pédro of Ivory coast, Hassaian Union Sportif Agadir of Morocco and Paradou Athletic of Algeria.
