Opah’s newness is both a strength and a weakness. But who is Eric Opah, and why would he make a difference?
Eric Opah is the founder of Fortune Global Shipping & Logistics Limited and Fortune Marine & Energy Services Limited. Fortune Global is one of Nigeria’s foremost indigenous logistics companies with the vision to become a global first-choice African shipping and logistics company. Opah currently serves as the Chairman Nigeria-America Chamber of Commerce, Abia State Chapter. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria (IODN), the Eric Opah Foundation, the President Umunna-Nsulu Progressive Forum, and the President of Mbubo Transformation Group.
He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration. He started his career in the logistics industry with Panalpina World Transport Group. Due to his passion for excellence, he soon gained considerable industry experience in the company before setting up his business.
Over the years, Eric gained significant experience in global freight forwarding, shipping and logistics. He has also demonstrated a sublime entrepreneurial ingenuity uncommon amongst his peers. Eric’s additional expertise in Air cargo handling operations contributed to the establishment of China Southern Airlines in Nigeria, where he became the Director of Cargo Operations. Above all, he has helped to redefine the freight forwarding business in Nigeria by opening doors for transparency and trust, which are his core business values.
Eric is a philanthropist, a grassroots community developer, and a youth development and empowerment engineer. He does these through the ERIC OPAH FOUNDATION (focused on empowering the younger generations through educational grants and financial support) and the MBUBO TRANSFORMATION GROUP (which champions community development projects), where he also sits as President of the highly respected group.
Eric and Christiana Opah have three children.
An all-Ngwa son, Eric Opah’s developmental projects are visible in Mbubo-Nsulu on the Ururuka road. He is a grassroots man.
