President Donald Trump and wife Melania are infected with the Covid-19 virus, the White House announced today, 2 October 2020.

The President plays down severity of the pandemic and has hitherto disdained expert recommended personal safety measures

A total of 208,000 American lives have been wasted as of today, out of 7.4million infected persons. Millions of them are still sick.

Both Trump and wife took to Twitter last night to announce that they are infected with Covid-19.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for the coronavirus. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” the President tweeted.

Fears for Trump’s health heightened yesterday when a top aide of the 74-year old was diagnosed as Covid-19 positive.

The lady, Hope Hicks, constantly flew with Trump and his wife on Air Force One, the US President’s official jet.

The president and his wife are quarantined inside the White House to manage their recovery, Trump’s doctor, Sean P. Conley, said.

President Trump struggles in the polls while campaigning physically across the nation to woo voters for a second mandate.

His affliction means that he automatically ceases physical campaigning for the elections coming up on 3 November.

His challenger, Joe Biden, campaigns remotely and has offered more consistent support of scientific recommendations to contain the virus.

The pandemic continues its non-discriminatory nature of attack on all classes of people. In Nigeria, six Governors have contracted the disease and all were lucky to have survived.

Nigeria’s NCDC reports 153 new cases of Covid19 nationwide last night, pushing total infections closer to 60,000 cases.

Over 50,452 Nigerian patients survived Covid-19 attacks while, officially, 1,112 persons could not make it.
