Enugu Metro delivers tools and resources that enable socialization agencies to ensure safety of the child in worship places.

Worship places are an important socialization agency for children and youths. They play a big role in the moral and spiritual growth of children and youths, enabling them to become moral beings who recognize right from wrong and choose the former. Socialization in worship places empowers a child to become a moral being, an achiever, and good citizen. At other times, however, the impact of socialization can be overwhelming for a child depending on the method of training adopted by the leaders of worship places. Socialization can turn a child into a fanatic, hating on those the leader characterizes as “unbelivers” and thereby turning the child into a social misfit. Worship places can also turn into an existential danger to children and youths. The world has witnessed examples of worship leaders that encouraged their members to commit mass suicide, seized and married children and youths, impregnated their mothers, indoctrinated youths to become suicide bombers, and generally indulged in atrocities that contradict their celestial preachments. Leaders of worship places owe society the responsibility of grooming children who will promote peace and development in their communities through their attitude and social conduct.
