Deputy Governor visits Border Posts

The six cases currently being managed in the state all had a history of travel outside the state, a development that has put the state on edge and forced the Police to launch an offensive to more effectively guard the interstate borders.

Top officials of the Government led by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Cecelia Ezeilo, yesterday paid unscheduled visits to some of the boundary states to ascertain the alertness of those detailed to man them.

With here were the State Assembly Speaker, Chief Edward Ubosi and the leader of the House of Assembly, Mr. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu and other assemblymen and members of the State Executive.

The monitoring team went as far as inner road of Iyi Ufuma and the expressway boundary town of Ugwuoba both boundaries with Anambra, as well as  Akpugoeze Amansea and Amechi Idodo-Nkalagu, inner road and expressway boundaries with Ebonyi State.

The Deputy Governor commended and encouraged the officials to ensure strict compliance with the lockdown order by.

“Vehicles do not necessarily carry the virus; its human beings that do carry coronavirus.

“This is a matter of life and death. I beg you not to allow people cross to our state for the interest of everybody in the State.

She gave them gifts, including sanitizers and face masks.
